Dr Moore has taught British and American literature and Cultural Studies at Bard College and The University of Texas in the United States; at The University of Helsinki, Finland; at St. Petersburg State University, Russia; and, since 2006, at Cambridge University. She has also held Fellowships at Harvard University and at St. Petersburg State University and is currently training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy with the Cambridge Society for Psychotherapy. Dr Moore’s approach to literature integrates close reading with an interdisciplinary approach that emphasizes the broader cultural and historical influences on the production of texts. Included amongst her research interests are Existentialism, African-American and Southern culture and literature, Russian culture and literature, psychoanalysis and psychoanalytic approaches to cultural studies, and approaches to narratology in literature and film.
