Thanking generous benefactors of Hughes, Kern and Marnie Wildenthal

Our senior members gathered this afternoon to thank long-time supporters and generous benefactors Kern (Honorary Fellow) and Marnie Wildenthal.

The occasion was held on the Fenner’s terrace, which as of today, bears the Wildenthal name in gratitude of their regular support since 2003, and a recent generous gift of £100,000 to the College.

Kern, an Honorary Fellow of Hughes since 1994, and his wife Marnie Wildenthal, travelled from Dallas to be at the ceremony. Their regular gifts have allowed the College to provide accommodation, study spaces and great academic support for our students over many years.

After introducing Kern and Marnie to the guests who attended the ceremony, President Anthony Freeling said: “We are all here to thank you for your generous gifts over many years, for representing Hughes Hall on the Cambridge in America Board, and for the time and wisdom you have offered to four Presidents of the College.”

A plaque now greets students, staff, senior members and visitors who enjoy the terrace and is recognition of the Wildenthal’s generous philanthropic support for the College.
