Heidi Allen, the former MP for South Cambridgeshire, amongst those to have joined us in 2019/20.
Heidi Allen is a well-recognised face in Cambridge and was the Member of Parliament for the South Cambridgeshire constituency from 2015 to 2019. She came into politics after 17 years of operational management experience in business and gained a reputation in the House of Commons as a backbencher with an analytical approach and independence of mind.
During her time as an MP she was a particularly strong advocate for improving the welfare system and supporting child refugees. Although she decided not to re-stand in 2019, Heidi still lives in South Cambridgeshire and is ‘very proud’ to be joining Hughes Hall as a Bridge Fellow.
